No action was taken against trainer Amar Sewdyal for the instructions given on horse EDGE OF THE SUN as there was not enough evidence.

But Jockey José Da Silva was charged under rule 208 (a) for his ride by the Racing Stipes. Though he was found guilty, he pleaded not guilty. He has been suspended for 32 race meetings.

Rule 208 (a) stipulates that when riding in a race, a jockey shall : ‘’take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to ensure that his horse is given the full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible place in the field.’’
