General 1. On a request from Trainer A. Rahmathulla, MOON JUMPER (I. Chisty) was permitted to leave the paddock with earplugs, which were removed before the start of the race.
Starting Reports 1. MOON JUMPER (I. Chisty) was slow and then was sluggish in its strides, losing ground.
Stewards Reports 1. Soon after leaving the Stalls, MOON JUMPER (I. Chisty) was eased briefly as WAR MEDAL (G. Aucharuz) shifted in. 2. Near the 450m, WAR MEDAL (G. Aucharuz) drifted outwards, carrying MOON JUMPER (I. Chisty) out briefly. 3. Jockey G. Aucharuz (WAR MEDAL) reported that his horse was hanging in, proving difficult to assist. Further, WAR MEDAL did not travel well in the running. In view of the performance of WAR MEDAL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 4. Jockey G. Aucharuz (WAR MEDAL) reported to the Course Medical Officer who stood him down for the remainder of the race meeting. The Jockey will be required to submit a Medical Fitness Certificate before riding again.

General 1. Prior to the commencement of this race, the instructions for all riders were taken by the Stipendiary Stewards. In this regard, each of the instructions matched the racing pattern of the horses, except for AFTER THE ORDER where Trainer C. Ramdin advised that the horse will sit close to pace. This change of tactic was disseminated to the public.

Stewards Reports 1. Soon after leaving the gates, WAIMEA (J. Bardottier) shifted in, causing CLOUDED HILL (R. Boutanive) to ease. Jockey J. Bardottier appeared before board, was shown the patrol film of the race and accordingly was issued with a severe reprimand. 2. SMUTS (S. Rama) was caught wide from a wide draw and travelled three wide until the 400m and then weakened. 3. Jockey M. Sonaram (SAVVY) reported that his horse was changing legs in the running. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 4. Jockey Bardottier (WAIMEA) appeared before the Board in relation to his riding in the initial stages of the race. He advised that his instructions were to take a good jump and try to lead, however not to insist as the horse was carrying top weight. He further stated that he elected to let his mount find its own pace and he was in a one-off position approaching the 1200m after Jockey R. Joorawon (SPECIAL FORCE) showed his intention to lead. Furthermore, he added that his remained one pace in the running. The explanation was noted. 5. An inquiry will be opened into the riding of Jockey R. Boutanive on CLOUDED HILL.

Stewards Reports 1. Soon after entering the straight, ENIGMA CODE (M. Sonaram) shifted out and SUPREME ELEVATION (R. Joorawon), which was hanging, shifted in, brushing each other and soon after ENIGMA CODE clipped the heels of SUPREME ELEVATION and fell, dislodging the rider near the 200m. 2. HUDSON RIVER (R. Oodith) which was following, had to be eased. 3. LEAD DRUMMER (N. Marday) was also eased due to the ease of HUDSON RIVER (R. Oodith) in front. 4. Jockey K. Ramsamy (RAVISHING RAMBO) which was trailing the field, was further eased near the 200m. 5. As a consequence of the above incident, Jockey M. Sonaram was attended to by the Course Medical Officer who stood him down for the remainder of the race meeting. The Jockey will be required to submit a Medical Fitness Certificate before riding again.
6. After conducting a review into the fall of ENIGMA CODE (M. Sonaram), it was deemed to be a racing incident and no further action was initiated in the matter.

Stewards Reports 1. Jockey K. Ramsamy (ROYAL MONARCH) reported that his horse was green in the running. 2. MASTERFUL GUY (J. Allyhosain) was hanging in, in the straight. 3. A review was undertaken into the riding of Jockey R. Joorawon on DUKE'S DOMAIN and was queried in relation to his ride from the 1100m to the 700m. He stated that his instructions were to find a position close to the pace. He explained that as per his instructions he was asked not to use his horse in the early part of the race as there was pace
in the race. He further stated that despite him saving his mount, the latter failed to run on when the pace quickened and was very disappointing in the final straight. When questioned as to why he did not let his mount travel freely from the 900m instead of taking a hold, he said he was not expecting the leader, COLOUR OF MONEY (B. Sooful), to surrender the lead had he moved up from there and that would have prejudiced his chances of obtaining the best possible placing at finish. After considering his evidence, the Stewards advised Jockey Joorawon that his ride between the 1100m to the 700m was of concern given the moderate pace of the race at that stage since in the final analysis the performance could not be gauged as the horse had bled from the nostrils. He was subsequently warned to show initiative in all his rides in future.
