At the start, BARAK LAVAN (A Roy) was inconvenienced when CELESTIAL MAGMA (I Taka) and SLIGHTLY SCOTTISH (N Marday) converged on to BARAK LAVAN. 3. Leaving the 1300 metres, BYPASS (K Teetan) shifted in, tightening MISTY ROLLER (R K Chumun) who scraped the rails which resulted in Jockey R K Chumun losing his right stirrup and could not regain it throughout the race. As MISTY ROLLER dropped back due to the interference, ITALIAN WAY (M Sonaram), who was behind MISTY ROLLER, was steadied and was ridden with restrain until passing 1200m as MISTY ROLLER ran unsettled having no assistance from its Rider who strived to regain his stirrup. 4. After having considered the submissions of the Rider and Trainer S P Nagadoo and not being satisfied with explanation of App K Teetan, he has been fined Rs 5,000 for contravening Rule 208(d) of the Rules of Racing, in that, the Jockey failed to take every possible and necessary steps to ensure that he or his horse did not interfere with another horse. App K Teetan was reminded that he has been previously fined for breach of the same Rule. App K Teetan was advised of his right of appeal against the penalty imposed. 5. Apprentice A Roy (BARAK LAVAN) was observed not to have led the field as instructed and he stated that after he was inconvenienced at the start, he had to hold his horse and given the circumstances, he did not think it appropriate to brush up his horse and try to lead. Near 700m, AFTER THE ORDER (GD Aucharuz) was caught wide and travelled so until about 500m. 3. AFTER THE ORDER (GD Aucharuz) hung out in the straight and near 200 meters, carried SACRED NIGHT (R Boutanive) outwards who went out on to DIGITAL FORTRESS (B Jacobson). 4. ENIGMA CODE (B Fayd’herbe) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out under the use of whip in the final 100 metres. 5. The Clerk of Scales reported that App A. Near 1500m, SIR BERNADINI (GD Aucharuz) was tightened for room as LIVERPOOL CHAMP (S Rama) shifted ground inward as the latter was inclined to lean in. Jockey S Rama has been advised to be more careful. 2. Trainer S Mahadia and Jockey J De Souza (FREEDOM OF SPEECH) were questioned with specific reference to the Jockey’s riding in the straight. The Jockey commented that soon after entering the straight, there was not enough room between ROYAL ITALIAN (B Fayd’herbe) and AL AASY (M Sonaram), therefore, he waited with his horse and as soon as the opportunity arose, he rode out. 3. To another query regarding the indecisiveness of the Jockey to change his whip from the backhand to the forehand, Trainer S Mahadia commented that probably, the Jockey wanted to ride from the inside of THE IT FACTOR (B Bhaugeerothee), but the former shifted in slightly, therefore, Jockey J De Souza had to pull his horse out to ride. The Jockey confirmed the same. 4. Trainer S Mahadia added that he was satisfied with the Jockey’s riding. 5. In view of the explanations offered, no further action was initiated in the matter. 6. A reprimand was issued to him. 2. At the start, CRIMSON GOD (J De Souza) jumped awkwardly outwards. 3. Soon after the start, COURTROOM MAGIC (B Fayd’herbe) shifted outwards causing CRIMSON GOD (J De Souza) to shift out and the latter took the running of LIQUID (R Joorawon) who was steadied, losing position. 4. Assistant Trainer Y Perdrau was questioned with regard to the inconsistent performance of COURTROOM MAGIC (B Fayd’herbe) who after winning Race no 18 and ran down the field in the next run and again winning today. The Stewards were informed that the horse ran flat, in the previous race, therefore, they had spaced out galops for the horse and this change in work pattern helped the horse and added that the next race for the horse could be after a month. He further commented that the earlier two runs were in a space of twelve days whereas the long layoff this time may have helped the horse. 5. R Joorawon (LIQUID) was questioned with regard to the handling of his mount from the 600 metres to the finish. The Jockey commented that when he put pressure on the horse near the 500 metres, he found it to be unbalanced, therefore, he took his time to balance him and ride out. He further added that his horse was tired in the straight and just ran on. 6. Jockey G D Aucharuz (DESERT ILLUSION) reported that his horse faded in the straight. Veterinary Surgeon’s Report 1.
