1.  From the jump, ARTAX (B Deenath) was ridden aggressively from the start and raced wide at the 1250m prior to securing the position outside the leader at the 1200m. Apprentice B Deenath appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligations to report any circumstances which may have affected the performance of his mounts in races. Apprentice B Deenath was further advised that should he appear before the Board regarding a similar matter in the near future, a more severe sanction may follow.
2. KALI’S CHAMP (N Marday) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. Jockey N Marday appeared before the Board and was advised that whilst the Board accepted that his ride today was similar to his ride when KALI’S CHAMP won in its last run, Jockey N Marday was still under an obligation to not cover unnecessary ground when riding in races. In view of the performance of KALI’S CHAMP, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
3. An Inquiry has been opened into Jockey N Marday’s whip use in this race. 
4. ROCHESTER (R K Chumun) was hanging in, in the straight.
5. Apprentice N S Batchameah signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 147(6)(a)(ii) in that he struck the horse MIDNIGHT MESSENGER with the whip more than 8 times before the 100m. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of Rs 2000 was imposed.

2. In the early stages, TAKING SILK (J Allyhosain) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. Thereafter, Jockey J Allyhosain elected to race around the field and to the front at the 1200m, after which this gelding hesitated when racing over the crossing and shifted out. Jockey J Allyhosain appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his ride. In this regard, he explained that after being caught wide with a slow early pace where many runners raced in tight quarters, he elected to race around the field to obtain the lead. However, once in front, TAKING SILK (J Allyhosain) raced greenly. The Board noted the explanations of Jockey J Allyhosain.
3. Jockey A Andrews (ARLINGTONS REVENGE) appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the positioning of his horse between the 1300m and 900m with particular reference to his decision to race wide into the back stretch. In this Rescheduled time: - Off time: 13hr07.33 4 regard, he explained that his instructions were to sit where his horse was comfortable and secure a position in the running which minimised the impact of the 61.5kg. However, after securing the running behind BESTDAY OF MYLIFE (M P De Oliveira), he found himself being dragged back further than he preferred. Accordingly, he elected to race around BESTDAY OF MYLIFE (M P De Oliveira) at the 1000m on the downhill side of the track and into a more forward position. The Board noted the explanations of Jockey A Andrews.

1. After jumping well, YANKEE FORCE (C Maujean) was restrained from an outside position to a rearward position on the rail. Thereafter, at the 250m, YANKEE 5 FORCE (C Maujean) was inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on heels and had to switch out to continue its run approaching the 150m when awkwardly placed on the inside of AL JAZEERA (J De Souza) which shifted in away from the whip. 
2. SHORT CUT (M P De Oliveira) was ridden aggressively from the start in order to obtain the lead. In assessing the tactics of SHORT CUT, the Stewards reviewed this gelding’s previous runs and after taking into consideration the early speed of SHORT CUT, in particular in its last run (9 July 2022) behind CARTEL BOSS, the Stewards were satisfied that the tactics adopted today were not against the racing pattern for this horse. 
3. At 1300m, JACK TARR (R Joorawon) had to ease when rolling onto the heels of INSTINCTIVE POWER.
4.  Between the 1200m and 800m, SMUTS (J Da Silva) raced fiercely in the running. As a consequence, Jockey J Da Silva had to switch his mount out off heels into a three deep running line approaching the 600m.
5. At the 200m, JACK TARR (R Joorawon) had to ease when tightened for galloping room and racing onto the heels of SAN ANDREAS (A Andrews). 
6. In the concluding stages, SAN ANDREAS (A Andrews) was carried out by YANKEE FORCE (C Maujean) which shifted out away from the whip.
7. INSTINCTIVE POWER (N Marday) raced wide throughout the race.

1. Prior to the commencement of this race, Trainers R Maingard (IDEAL SECRET) and S Mahadia (PRINCE OF VENICE) advised the Stewards that contrary to the recent racing pattern of these horses, it was their instructions for each of these runners to be dropped in to a rearward position from their wide draws. The Stewards noted the instructions for both runners and advised the public of the change of tactics prior to the commencement of the race.
2. Shortly after the start, SHAH AKBAR (N Teeha), THOMAS HENRY (S Bussunt), BATTLE OF ALESIA (N S Batchameah) and EMBLEM OF HOPE (A L Da Silva) came together and made contact when BATTLE OF ALESIA and THOMAS HENRY were awkwardly placed between SHAH AKBAR which rolled out marginally and EMBLEM OF HOPE which rolled in and was immediately straightened. 
3. At the 1250m, BATTLE OF ALESIA (N S Batchameah) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of BASSAM (C Maujean) which raced fiercely in the running and rolled out in reaction to THOMAS HENRY (S Bussunt) which shifted in to secure the running behind the leader. As a consequence of this incident, PRINCE OF VENICE (J De Souza) which overraced in the early and middle stages, had to be restrained off the heels of BATTLE OF ALESIA. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that no blame could be apportioned to any individual Jockey and therefore, determined this to be a racing incident.
4. CAPTAIN FLYNT (S Rama) raced around the field at the 1000m and into a one out one back position at the 600m.
5. At the 300m, BLESS MY PATH (M P De Oliviera) was carried wide by BASSAM which showed a tendency to hang out throughout the running. 
6. Between the 350m and 300m, IDEAL SECRET (R Joorawan) had to be restrained off heels on a number of occasions. Thereafter, this gelding switched in to continue its run at the 250m. 
7. Jockey A L Da Silva signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 147(6)(a)(i) in that he struck the horse EMBLEM OF HOPE with his whip more than once on consecutive strides in the running. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of Rs 2000 was imposed.

6. HONOKALANI (R Joorawon) took at least two awkward strides between the 1300m and the 1200m. Jockey R Joorawon (HONOKALANI) appeared before the Stewards and was afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors which in his opinion contributed to HONOKALANI performing below market expectations. In this regard, he explained that despite being well positioned and travelling well in the running, after going over the road, when he squeezed HONOKALANI, it had nothing to come and in fact felt amiss. Jockey R Joorawon further advised that he had relayed his concerns regarding the soundness of HONOKALANI to Trainer R Maingard who undertook to take action. The Stewards noted the explanations of Jockey R Joorawon, however, reminded him of his obligations to report any circumstances which may have affected the performance of his mounts in races. In view of the performance of HONOKALANI, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
7. Jockey D Bheekary signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 147(5)(a) in that he used his whip down the shoulder of TALISMAN, whilst in the drawn position. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension of one race meeting was imposed on him (Suspension: 13 August 2022).
8. Apprentice I Taka signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 147(6)(a)(ii) in that he struck with his whip, SUPREME ORATOR more than 8 times before the 100m. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of one race meeting was imposed. (Suspension date: 13 August 2022)

1. Prior to the commencement of this race, Trainers Mahadia (GIGGIN) and Gujadhur (LIT) advised the Stewards that contrary to the recent racing pattern of these horses, it was their instructions if possible, for each of these runners to be ridden positively from the start in order to secure forward positions or the lead. The Stewards noted the instructions for both runners and advised the public of the change of tactics prior to the commencement of the race.
2. A race review was called into the start of this race pertaining to EUROTEC (N S Batchameah) drawn in stall gate 2. In this regard, it was established that after the start was effected, EUROTEC (N S Batchameah) fly jumped. The Stewards were of the view that any distance lost by this gelding was as a consequence of its own behaviour, therefore no further action was taken.
3. An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why GIGGIN (J De Souza) and SENATLA (B Bhaugeerothee) were tightened for galloping room and LIT (S Rama) had to ease at approximately the 1400m.
4. LIT (S Rama) overraced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter, this gelding raced wide from the 500m and into the straight. 
5. GIGGIN (J De Souza) raced wide into the straight. Thereafter, this gelding was hanging in from the 250m.
6. In the concluding stages, EUROTEC (N S Batchameah) was disappointed for a clear run when awkwardly placed on the inside of SENATLA (B Bhaugeerothee) which shifted in. 
7. An inquiry will be opened into Jockey A Andrews’ (NIMITZ) whip use in this race.
8. In view of the performances of GIGGIN (J De Souza) and LIT (S Rama), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
