1.  Shortly after the start, BARAK LAVAN (A Roy) and SUPREME ELEVATION (G D Aucharuz) were tightened for galloping room and MISTY ROLLER (S Rama) clipped the heels of BELLS APOSTLE (M Chinapiel) whilst the entire field raced in tight quarters.  
2. In assessing this incident, Stewards were of the view that the false rail had been a contributing factor to this incident and therefore took no action against the riders. This was confirmed when the Starter, Mr R. Rawa, accompanied by the PTPL officials Mr David, and Mr Habib appeared before the Stewards and advised them that for future 1850m races, one less runner would be advised for 4.5m false rails. 
3. THE HITMAN (A L Da Silva) was hanging in from the 600m to the finish.  
4. An inquiry will be opened into Jockey M Chinapiel’s riding of BELLS in this race.  
5. Jockey B Jacobson (SIR CAPERS) appeared before the Stewards and was advised against the practice of using his whip more than once on consecutive strides.
6. Jockey J De Souza signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 147(6)(a)(i) in that he struck the horse CELESTIAL MAGMA with his whip more than once on consecutive strides in the running. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of Rs 2500 was imposed.
7. In view of the performance of SUPREME ELEVATION, BARAK LAVAN and BELLS APOSTLE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.

1.  The start of this race was delayed due to the scratching of DUNZIE (I Taka) and the starting team having to attend to the false rail at the 1850m.

1. In view of the Starting Report, the starting stall certificate for GOLD LINING (G D Aucharuz) has been withdrawn. This gelding has been suspended by the Stewards for seven days after which, it will be required to complete a jump out in a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards. (Suspension dates: 28 August- 3 September 2022)
2. Shortly after the start, HIGH VOLTAGE (J Da Silva) was carried out by GOLD LINING (G D Aucharuz) which rolled out after being corrected by Jockey G D Aucharuz from the jump. Thereafter, HIGH VOLTAGE raced wide throughout.
3. Between the 600m and 400m, MEZUZAH (A Andrews) was carried out by ILLICIT KISS (A L Da Silva) which rolled out on the turn.
4. Jockey A Andrews reported that MEZUZAH (A Andrews) took an awkward stride at the 400m, this gelding hung in, in the straight and was not striding out in the running. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
5. POETIC LICENSE (O Sola) raced wide into the straight.
6. In view of the performance of GOLD LINING, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.

1. Jockey G D Aucharuz (HIGH KEY) carried 1kg overweight and weighed out at 59 kg.
2. Apprentice I Taka (UNCLE FRANK) claimed only 3kg out of his 4kg allowance and weighed out at 53kg. 
3. The start of the race was delayed due to broken rails on the road. As a consequence of this incident, the entire field which was already loaded had to be unloaded and reloaded after the issue was resolved. 

Starting Reports
1. HIGH KEY (G D Aucharuz), LIVERPOOL CHAMP (S Rama) and ARLINGTONS REVENGE (A Andrews) lost one length, respectively. 

Stewards Reports
1. ARLINGTONS REVENGE (A Andrews) raced wide between the 1800m and 1500m. 
2.PUGET SOUND (N S Batchameah) raced keenly in the early stages. Consequently, this gelding was switched out from racing on the rail behind the leader and ridden forward in order to obtain the lead at the 1100m.
3. HIGH KEY (G D Aucharuz) had to ease between the 500m and 300m when awkwardly placed initially on the heels of MOSCHINO (D Bheekary) and thereafter, the fading PUGET SOUND (N S Batchameah). Subsequently, this gelding was hanging out in the straight.
4. LIVERPOOL CHAMP (S Rama) raced wide around the turn and into the straight.
5. In the concluding stages, ARLINGTONS REVENGE (A Andrews) shifted out off the heels of CANARY ISLAND (B Sooful) in order to improve through a narrow run on the outside of CANARY ISLAND and on the inside of MOSCHINO (D Bheekary) which was hanging in from the 250m. The Trainer (P Merven) of the second placed horse, ARLINGTONS REVENGE (A Andrews), lodged an objection against the first placed horse, CANARY ISLAND, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After hearing the evidence in this matter, the Stewards overruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Stewards were of the view that any outward movement by CANARY ISLAND was miniscule. Therefore, it could not be established that but for the alleged interference ARLINGTONS REVENGE would have finished ahead of CANARY ISLAND. Accordingly, the objection was overruled and the Judge’s result was allowed to stand. Additionally, the Stewards were of the view that this was an unwarranted objection and Trainer P Merven was fined the sum of Rs 10,000.
6. After the running of this race, Jockey A Andrews (ARLINGTONS REVENGE) was declared medically unfit to ride by the Medical Doctor, was stood down and replaced on his remaining rides.

In this regard, it was established that KATZENTHAL (B Fayd'herbe) was impeded by a handler which resulted in it losing a significant distance at the start and CRAZY CHARLIE (B Sooful) was impeded by a faulty starting gate which resulted in it losing significant distance at the start. Accordingly, both horses were declared non-runners at 15hr33. All monies invested on KATZENTHAL and CRAZY CHARLIE were ordered to be refunded. Fixed odds winning bets were deducted at 5 cents and 15 cents per rupee respectively, on the face value of the tickets.
2. CAMP DAVID (I Taka) raced wide between the 600m and 300m.
3. THE JAZZ SINGER (A L Da Silva) was inconvenienced on heels approaching the straight.
4.  At the 200m, MANETHEREN (G D Aucharuz) was struck on the head by Apprentice I Taka’s (CAMP DAVID) whip.
