Jockey N Marday (SEOUL) was questioned with regard to him travelling wide for most part of the race and he advised that his horse had jumped well and was caught wide on the outside of NIMITZ (N Teeha) and since his horse was travelling well, he did not want to break the stride of the horse and bring him back behind runners, therefore, he let his horse race as he found him. He further advised that between 900m 600m, NIMITZ had moved away from the rails forcing his horse to travel further wide. It was put to the Jockey that in this race, his horse had travelled extra ground as compared to any other runner in the race, and this being a longdistance race, he should have tried to come the shortest way home. The Stewards accepted that the horse had commenced to give ground from 500m onwards. Furthermore, Jockey N Marday advised that his horse was not striding out during the race, but the veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. 2. Apprentice I Taka (SNOWY MOUNTAIN) has been reprimanded for allowing his horse to shift ground outward while turning for home and further wide soon on straightening for home and in the concluding stages under the use of whip. Rescheduled time: NIL Starting time: 13h06.39 Stewards’ Reports 1. At the start, POETIC LICENSE (N Marday) was slow and then sluggish getting into the strides, losing about 3 to 4 lengths. ESCAPE PLAN (I Taka) and HIDDEN IDENTITY (NS Batchameah) made contact with each other. YOHO MIST (J Da Silva) jumped awkwardly outwards and brushed the gate. 2.Shortly after the start, FRENCH REBEL (N Teeha) ducked inward and jostled with HIDDEN IDENTITY (NS Batchameah). 3. Leaving the 900m, YOHO MIST (J Da Silva) was switched inwards and put behind runners. 4. Leaving the 450m crossing, YOHO MIST (J Da Silva) and FRENCH REBEL (N Teeha) drifted outwards. 5. In the final 100m, SHESH BESH (B Fayd’herbe) did not have a clear run between NEW ABBEY (AL Da Silva) and MEZUZAH (K Ramsamy) and was switched out, which caused FORT MCHENRY (GD Aucharuz) to shift out and close the gap in front of HIDDEN IDENTITY (N S Batchameah) who was steadied momentarily. 6. Jockey B Fayd'herbe (SHESH BESH) has been reprimanded for allowing his horse to shift outwards in the concluding stages of the race and going across FORT MCHENRY (G D Aucharuz). 7. In a review of the previous races of NEW ABBEY, it was revealed that the horse was loaded last in Race 141 (on 13 Aug 2022) but was fractious and after the start, did not get to be in an advantageous position as the other runners were faster and this horse had to be placed in the rear part of the field and finished about 7.60 lengths from the winner. In Race 121 (on 31 July 2022) the horse had outermost draw and was in the front bunch and was gradually placed behind 5 horses and was in the reckoning near 400m and thereafter, finishing 1.24 lengths from the Winner. At the start, AL'S LEGACY (B Jacobson) jumped awkwardly outwards and jostled with ARNHEM LAND (D Bheekary) who was awkwardly placed behind the heels of HIGH VOLTAGE (J Da Silva) and steadied. 2. DO OR DARE (N S Batchameah) fly jumped at the start. At the start, BLEU ROYALE (P Mogun) made contact with HIGH VOLTAGE (J Da Silva). 3. Leaving the 1300m, AL’S LEGACY (B Jacobson) was steadied. 4. Jockey G D Aucharuz (INSTINCTIVE POWER) was observed to have used his whip in consecutive strides before the 100m. He was found in contravention of Rule 147(6)(a)(i), in that, he admitted to have struck his horse, INSTINCTIVE POWER, more than once on consecutive strides in the running and signed an admission of guilt. Rescheduled time: NIL Starting time: 16h00.40 Stewards’ Reports 1. NAO FAZ MAL (NS Batchameah) was restless in its stall and was rearing up constantly. As the start was affected, the horse reared up again & lost ground and then ran detached from the field throughout the race. After the race, Mr. D David advised the Stewards that NAO FAZ MAL (N S Batchameah) was restless inside the stall & reared up and the race was started as the horse landed, but at the same time the horse reared up again, losing considerable ground. Jockey NS Batchameah was also questioned who confirmed that the horse had reared up and was slowly away. The Stewards were satisfied that the horse last ground due to its own behaviour and therefore, in terms of Rule 185 (f) deemed it a runner. 2. In view of this behaviour of the horse, it has been suspended for seven (7) days, after which, it will be required to pass a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards. 3. At the start, GORDONSTOUN (R Joorawon) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with WELL CONNECTED (D Bheekary), who itself had begun awkwardly and had its head pulled down.
