Rescheduled time: NIL Starting time: 12h32.30 Stewards’ Reports 1. The Stipendiary Stewards discovered that Jockey K Ramsamy’s grand total of wins, including his wins outside Mauritius exceeded 50. He was replaced on CRUSHING FORCE by App A Roy at 15h00 on 3rd November 2022. An inquiry has been opened into the matter. 2. Apprentice N S Batchameah (ARTAX) claimed only 2kg out of his 3kg allowance and weighed out at 56kg. 3. It rained before the start of the race. 4. BYPASS (M Sonaram) was led to the start and there was delay in the start of the race. Trainer S P Nagadoo has been advised to ensure that his horse reaches the start in time. 5. At the start, RED ROCK CANYON (N Oodith) jumped awkwardly outwards due to which SLIGHTLY SCOTTISH (Koyal Teetan) was eased. 6. NIGHTINGALE LANE (S Bundhoo) was slowly away. 7. Near 1500m, RED ROCK CANYON (N Oodith) shifted in and caused BYPASS (M Sonaram) to be eased and drop back. 8. Near 800, RED ROCK CANYON (N Oodith) ran unsettled and shifted out, carrying NIGHTINGALE LANE (S Bundhoo) wide. 9. In the straight, MIDNIGHT ORACLE (I Taka) commenced to shift out under the use of the whip and brushed with CRUSHING FORCE (A Roy). 10. Trainer S P Nagadoo and Apprentice M Sonaram (BYPASS) were questioned regarding his feeble attempt after the start to position his horse in the initial stages of the race, when the instructions to the Apprentice were to be in third or fourth position and to follow the front runners. The Jockey stated that he wanted to take the rail position and therefore was placed further back contrary to his instructions. Trainer S P Nagadoo expressed his satisfaction with the Apprentice’s riding. However, in view of the unsatisfactory explanations from the Trainer, in giving the instructions, and the Apprentice, in following them, both have been advised to be more careful in future. 11. When interviewed, Jockey N S Batchameah (ARTAX) with regard to him allowing CRUSHING FORCE (A Roy) to take an easy lead when his own instructions were to “bounce to lead”, he advised that when he saw CRUSHING FORCE being ridden to take lead, he did not want to cut pace and allowed CRUSHING FORCE to take a lead. This resulted in this horse racing further back in the running than is usually the case with its racing pattern. 2. At the start, BENEV (J Bardottier) and NIMITZ (B Sooful) began awkwardly. 2. NIMITZ (B sooful) and EAGLE’S VISION (N S Batchameah) brushed. 3. VOLATILE ENERGY (I Taka) and ARNICA MONTANA (A Roy) brushed. 4. CRIMSON GOD (J Da Silva) raced to the front in the early stages and compounded in the straight. 5. Near 1400m, EAGLE’S VISION (NS Batchameah) shifted inwards to slot in along the rails which caused NIMITZ (B Sooful) to be momentarily inconvenienced, which resulted in UNCLE FRANK (R Botanive) having to be eased. 6. Shortly after the 1400m, ARNICA MONTANA (A Roy) was eased off the heels of BENEV (J Bardottier). 7. BENEV (J Bardottier) commenced to give ground to the field from the 500m. 8. PRINCE ALF (A L Da Silva) switched out off the heels of SENOR DON (M Sonaram) at the 200m. Thereafter, this gelding shifted in away from the whip in concluding stages. 9. VOLATILE ENERGY (I Taka) was carried out by SENOR DON (M Sonaram) at the 450m crossing and thereafter, VOLATILE ENERGY raced wide around the turn and into the straight. Subsequently, VOLATILE ENERGY (I Taka) began to weaken and gave ground to the field from the 300m & was eased from the 150m. 10. UNCLE FRANK (R Boutanive) became unbalanced while turning for home turn and also brushed with NIMITZ (B Sooful). 11. NIMITZ (B Sooful) was not persevered in the concluding stages of the race. Soon after the start, COURTROOM MAGIC (G D Aucharuz) commenced to shift in and carried NAMIB DESERT (A L Da Silva) and DUKE'S DOMAIN (M Sonaram) inwards and the latter jostled with BRILLIANT DISGUISE (R Joorawon) approaching the 1400m. 5. Subsequently, Jockey G D Aucharuz signed an Admission of Guilt whereby he contravened Rule 208(d), in that, whilst riding the horse COURTROOM MAGIC, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other horses. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in race for a period covering two (2) Race Meetings was imposed. Therefore, his licence will stand suspended from 13th November 2022 to 19th November 2022 (both days inclusive). 6. Near 100m, BRILLIANT DISGUISE (R Joorawon) was eased off the heels of NAMIB DESERT (A L Da Silva). 7. PUGET SOUND (K Ramsmay) was pulling from the 1200m until 600m and near the 800m, PUGET SOUND (K Ramsamy) shifted out sharply. 8. Approaching the 100m, COURTROOM MAGIC (G D Aucharuz) shifted out and bumped NAMIB DESERT (A L Da Silva) which had to check momentarily. 9. Jockey K Ramsamy (PUGET SOUND) reported that his saddle slipped during the race. 10. A review will be held into the interference caused by COURTROOM MAGIC to NAMIB DESERT in the straight. Prior to the loading of the horses, the saddle on ONE DAY OR DAY ONE (N S Batchameah) was readjusted. 4. At the start, FLOWERSCAPE (M Sonaram) was slowly away and went into the lead near 1300m. 5. ESCAPE PLAN (I Taka) was slow by one length. CRAZY CHARLIE (A Roy) was slow by two (2) lengths and was then outpaced in the early stages of the race. 6. App I Taka (ESCAPE PLAN) signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 147(6)(a)(ii), in that, he struck the horse, ESCAPE PLAN, with the whip more than eight (8) times before the 100m.
