Stipes report

Rescheduled time: -
Off time: 13hr41.45

Starting Reports
1. OXFORD BLUE (D. David) jumped awkwardly.

Stewards Reports
1. As the start was effected, WELL CONNECTED (S. Donohoe) which was restless in the
stalls, threw its head down, brushed the outside gates which as a consequence opened
marginally earlier than the other gates. Thereafter, this gelding jumped awkwardly and lost
a length. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the opinion that any prejudice suffered
by this horse was a result of its own behavior and that from the patrol films of the race, it
could not be established that any advantage was gained by WELL CONNECTED from its
gate opening fractionally earlier. Therefore, no action was taken in respect of this incident.
2. Leaving the 1300m, OXFORD BLUE (D. David) was tightened for galloping room when
awkwardly placed on inside of CHAPTER AND VERSE (J. Bardottier). Jockey J.
Bardottier appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised
to take more care when shifting ground in races. Additionally, Jockey J. Bardottier was
advised that should he appear before the Board regarding a similar incident in the near
future, more severe sanctions may follow.
3. Jockey S. Donohoe (WELL CONNECTED) appeared before the Board, was shown the
patrol films of the race and was questioned regarding his decision to maneuver WELL
CONNECTED to the extreme outside in the straight. In this regard, Jockey S. Donohoe

explained that WELL CONNECTED had shown a tendency to hang out throughout the
running, which in his opinion was compounded by SPIRITUAL WIND (B. Bhaugeerothee)
rolling out on various occasions in the running and brushing WELL CONNECTED at the
400m. Accordingly, entering the straight he elected to allow WELL CONNECTED to drift
out, get balanced and then run on at the finish. The Board noted the explanations of Jockey
S. Donohoe.
Additionally, Jockey S. Donohoe was issued with a caution in that his conduct in the Board
Room was inappropriate. He was advised that should a similar incident occur in the future,
a more severe sanction may follow.

Starting Reports
1. NEVIL MU (B. Bhaugeerothee) and FRENCH REBEL (M. Sonaram) lost one length,
respectively.
Stewards Reports
1. As the start was effected, SUN TIGER (J. Allyhosain) tried to duck underneath the starting
stalls and thereafter reared up. This resulted in Jockey J. Allyhosain being dislodged from
the saddle of SUN TIGER. A race review was called into this incident, however, after
reviewing the patrol films of the race, interviewing Jockey J. Allyhosain and Starter R.
Rawa, SUN TIGER was deemed to be a runner as, by Jockey J. Allyhosain’s own
admission, he was in the saddle when the start was effected and any prejudice which was
suffered by this horse was as a consequence of its own behaviour. In view of this report,
the starting stall certificate for SUN TIGER has been withdrawn. This gelding has been
suspended for seven days after which, it will be required to complete a jump out in a barrier
trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
2. LITE OF MY LIFE (N. Batchameah), which raced keenly in the early stages, elected to
race around the field and to the front approaching the 1100m.

in the normal scale used for weighing in Jockeys not functioning. As a consequence of this
incident, the Jockeys had to be weighed on another scale with the appropriate reductions
in weight. Subsequently, the Clerk of Scales passed all riders as having weighed in
correctly.
4. Apprentice M. Sonaram reported that the saddle on FRENCH REBEL had slipped
sideways at the 600m, which resulted in him being unable to assist this gelding. The saddle
slip was confirmed by the Starter, R. Rawa.
