General 1. The start of this race was delayed due to technical difficulties with the server in the Stewards Boardroom. Accordingly, this race was rescheduled to 12hr40. Starting Reports 1. MAN FROM SEATTLE – Slow to begin. Stewards Reports 1. A race review was called into the start of this race pertaining to CELESTIAL MAGMA (I. Taka) drawn in stall gate one. In this regard, it was established that as the start was effected Apprentice I. Taka who was loaded last, removed his hand from his right rein on his own accord and placed it on the side of the gate. Subsequently, CELESTIAL MAGMA (I. Taka) jumped awkwardly and lost 2 lengths. Apprentice I. Taka appeared before the Stewards and was questioned regarding this incident. In this regard, he explained that after he was loaded into the stalls, he had attempted to adjust his rightside stirrup iron. Apprentice I. Taka alleged that he shouted to the starter however, the start was effected. 2. The starter was interviewed regarding this above incident. In this regard he explained that he did not hear a call from Apprentice I. Taka and accordingly effected the start once the all clear was given from behind. 3. The Stewards in reviewing this incident were of the opinion that any prejudice suffered by CELESTIAL MAGMA (I. Taka) was not as a consequence of a faulty starting stall nor the actions of a handler and that, CELESTIAL MAGMA had been given every opportunity to have a fair start by the starter. Accordingly, CELESTIAL MAGMA (I. Taka) was deemed to be a runner by the Stewards. 4. SECRET CIRCLE (R. K. Chumun) was ridden aggressively from the jump in order to obtain the lead3 5. CELESTIAL MAGMA (I. Taka) was hanging in from the 200m. 6. Apprentice M. Teetan (XANTHUS) signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 208(k) in that he made an excessive celebratory gesture prior to the finish of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed. Veterinary Surgeon Reported 1. Veterinary Surgeon had no report.

General 1. The start of this race was delayed due to both the servers in the Steward’s Room failing, the Broadcasting Radio’s not transmitting and an alternate arrangement having to be made by the Stewards. Starting Reports 1. TYRIAN (R. K. Chumun) and ALSSAKHRA (S. Bussunt) came together and brushed when awkwardly placed on inside of CARTEL BOSS (B. Sooful) which jumped in. Steward Reports 1. Apprentice I. Taka (MARRAKECH) reported that after his mount being slow into stride, he felt something amiss in the early stages of the race and thereafter, after jumping the crossing. Consequently, he elected to ease his mount out of the race. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon’s report, this gelding has been suspended from racing until completing a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards and Veterinary Surgeon. Starting Reports 1. BON VIVEUR (S. Bussunt) and MOON JUMPER (S. Rama) were carried out by MEZUZAH (D. Bheekary) which jumped out. Steward Reports 1. MOON JUMPER (S. Rama) raced fiercely between the 1300m and 1000m and had to be restrained off heels on a number of occasions. 2. At the 50m, BETATHANTHEREST (B. Sooful) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of MILLION DOLLAR MAN (J. De Souza) which shifted in away from the whip. The Stewards called a race review into this incident, which was followed by Trainer P. Merven and Jockey B. Sooful reviewing the patrol films of the race. However, after taking into consideration the proximity of the interference to the finish and the distance between the runners at the line, no further action was taken. An inquiry has been opened into this incident and is scheduled for hearing on 16 June 2022. 3. In view of the performance of BON VIVEUR (S. Bussunt), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Starting Reports 1. AL JAZEERA (J. De Souza) reared in the stalls before start was effected and lost one length. Steward Reports 1. At 1250m, CITADEL (S. Bussunt) brushed LITE OF MY LIFE (C. Maujean). Thereafter, CITADEL (S. Bussunt) was restrained to obtain a position behind LITE OF MY LIFE (C. Maujean). 2. AL JAZEERA (J. De Souza) had to be restrained off the heels when overracing at the 1200m. 3. At 600m, LITE OF MY LIFE (C. Maujean) committed from its position outside TRAVELIN MAN (M. Sonaram), to the lead. Apprentice M. Sonaram appeared before Board and was questioned regarding his decision to restrain and allow LITE OF MY LIFE (C. Maujean) to obtain the lead. In this regard, he explained that after TRAVELIN MAN (M. Sonaram) had raced keenly in the running, when LITE OF MY LIFE (C. Maujean) moved around him at the pace at which it did, he elected not to chase his horse after its early exertions as he felt this would be detrimental to his mount’s performance in the straight. The Stewards noted the explanation of Apprentice M. Sonaram. 4. Jockey D. Bheekary signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 147(5)(a) in that he used his whip down the shoulder of Anderson, whilst in the drawn position. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of Rs 2,000 was imposed. Veterinary Surgeon Reported AL JAZEERA - coughing after the race.

Starting Reports 1. Var’s Elusion lost one length. Stewards Reports 1. Al Bragga (S. Bussunt) was hanging in throughout the straight. Thereafter, S. Bussunt was dislodged from Al Bragga which reared over in the pull up. Notwithstanding this incident, Jockey S. Bussunt was able to weigh in. 2. Entering the straight, Transonic (J. De Souza) became awkwardly placed and had to ease when it rolled onto the heels of Al Bragga (S. Bussunt). 3. Var’s Elusion (B. Sooful) was hanging in throughout the straight. 4. Thomas Henry raced wide around the turn and into the straight. Thereafter, this gelding was hanging in, throughout the straight. 5. Jockey B. Sooful reported that Var’s Elusion did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examined. Veterinary Surgeon Reported 1. Apprentice I. Taka signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 208 (d) in that as the rider of ZIVA LA WINTER, he failed to ensure he did not cause interference to CRANK IT UP at the 1000m. Starting Reports 1. Crazy Charlie lost many lengths. Stewards Reports 1. Kalgoorlie (S. Rama) raced wide into the straight. 2. In view of the Starter’s Report, the starting stall certificate for Crazy Charlie has been withdrawn. This gelding has been suspended by the Stewards for seven days after which, it will be required to complete a jump out in a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards. 3. S. Bussunt reported that there was something amiss with Numberninetynine in the running. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon’s report, Numberninetynine has been suspended from racing for a period of 30 days. Veterinary Surgeon reports 1. Numberninetynine – bled from both nostrils. 30 days suspension confirmed.
Starting Reports 1. Trip To The Sky (R. K. Chumun) and Taking Silk (B. Sooful) lost one length. Stewards Reports 1. Good Buddy (C. Maujean) broke through the front gates early. This caused the starter to declare a false start. All runners were subsequently restrained by their respective riders, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. 2. Thereafter, prior to the start of the race being effected, Freedom Of Speech (J. De Souza) and Whipping Boy (I. Taka) reared in the gates. As a consequence, Freedom Of Speech (J. De Souza) was withdrawn by the Stewards on veterinary advice and Whipping Boy (I. Taka) was withdrawn after Apprentice I. Taka was injured in the stalls. 3. Good Buddy (C. Maujean) was restrained off heels at the 1100m. 4. At the 200m, Good Buddy (C. Maujean) was carried out marginally on at least two occasions by Grand Vision (S. Bussunt) which shifted out away from the whip throughout the straight. A Steward called a race review into this incident however, after he and jockey C. Maujean reviewed the patrol films of the race, both held the view that it could not be established that but for the above incident, Good Buddy would have finished ahead of Grand Vision. Therefore, no further action was taken. 5. Jockey S. Bussunt’s saddle slipped back in the running. This was confirmed by the Stewards and Clerk Of Scale. Veterinary Surgeon Reported 1. Freedom Of Speech – Put its right foreleg across the next gate was scratched. 2. Grand Vision – Distressed after race. Scratchings 1. FREEDOM OF SPEECH (J. De Souza) was scratched at 16h48. 2. WHIPPING BOY (I. Taka) was scratched at 16h51. 3. All monies invested on FREEDOM OF SPEECH and WHIPPING BOY were ordered to be refunded. Fixed odds winning bets were deducted 18 cents per rupee on the face value of the ticket. Medical Report 1. Jockeys J. De Souza and I. Taka were injured and taken to the clinic by the ambulance.
