eased the pace sharply on two occasions whilst looking for cover. Apprentice M. Sonaram
appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his riding of DUKE OF
ABERCORN. In this regard, he explained that his instructions were not to lead in this race

for him easing his mount as illustrated on the patrol films of the race.
Trainer Y. Perdrau appeared before the Board and confirmed the statements of Apprentice
M. Sonaram in so far as they related to him. The Board, however, questioned Trainer Y.
Perdrau on his tactics in this race. In this regard, he was questioned regarding why he had
not intended to fully commit for the lead. He explained that he had anticipated that there
would be more speed pressure in the race. Therefore, he was reluctant to over commit too
early on DUKE OF ABERCORN.
The Board noted the explanations of both Trainer Y. Perdrau and Apprentice M. Sonaram.
However, in so far as Apprentice M. Sonaram was concerned, an inquiry has been opened
into his riding in this race.

SHESH BESH (K. Ramsamy) was ridden aggressively in order to obtain a forward position
and raced to the lead at the 1100m.
4.INAUGURATION (I. Chisty) raced wide from the 450m.
5. CRACKON (S. Donohoe) switched in to continue its run at the 150m.
