General 1. POWER TOWER (I. Chisty) proceeded to the start being led by a handler and without a Jockey mounted. Trainer A. Rahmathulla will be issued with a caution with regard to this incident and advised that should he appear before the Board again with regards to a similar matter, more severe sanctions may be taken.

Thereafter, SPECIAL FORCE raced wide around the turn and into the straight. 3. At the 900m, LE QUARTIER (I. Taka) elected to race from the position outside the leader, to the lead. 4. At the 800m, ROCHESTER (K. Roussety) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of SPECIAL FORCE (K. Bhageeruthy), which rolled in. 5. At the 150m, DUKE OF ABERCORN (K. Ramsamy) was carried in by LE QUARTIER (I. Taka) which shifted in away from the whip. As a consequence of this incident, ROCHESTER (K. Roussety) which was positioned on the rail, more than a length behind, had to switch out to continue its run. A race review was called into this incident. However, after reviewing the footage, no further action was taken. 6. Apprentice K. Roussety appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised against the practice of using his whip on consecutive strides in the running. Apprentice K. Roussety was issued with a warning.

He further explained that prior to the race he had anticipated that there would be more significant speed on his inside, therefore he had not planned to lead in this race as when this gelding led previously, he did not finish his race off as strongly as he could have. However, considering
the natural early speed shown by STAGEWORLD today, which enabled him to get across the field as easily as it did, he was of the view that it would have been counterproductive to break this gelding’s stride and look for cover under the circumstances, particularly as he had seen that SPIRITUAL WIND (M. De Oliveira) had not jumped on even terms. The Board noted the explanations of Jockey K. Ramsamy. 3. In view of the performance of FLOWERSCAPE (J. Allyhosain), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.

Donohoe) which failed to maintain a three deep running line, notwithstanding the two horses which were positioned on its inside. Jockey S. Donohoe signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 43.2.2 in that as the rider of the horse MOROCCAN RETREAT, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BESTDAY OF MYLIFE and DUKE'S DOMAIN at the 1300m. A suspension from riding in races for a period of one race meeting was imposed. 8. A review will be conducted into Jockey I. Chisty’s riding of STRAIGHT in this race. 9. In view of the performance of MOROCCAN RETREAT (S. Donohoe) and LIVERPOOL CHAMP (R. Boutanive), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
