Joorawon) and SUPREME ELEVATION (N. S. Batchameah) were inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of WALNUT (A. Roy) which shifted in when racing fiercely in the early and middle stages. Thereafter, at approximately the 1000m, WALNUT (A. Roy) shifted out when awkwardly placed on the heels of AMANDLA (C. Maujean) which rolled in. 5. Shortly before the finish, SUPREME ELEVATION (N. S. Batchameah) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of AMANDLA (C. Maujean) which shifted in away from the whip. 6. Jockey C. Maujean (AMANDLA) appeared before the Board regarding both the aforementioned incidents and was advised to take all reasonable measures in order to ensure he is clear of other runners when shifting ground in races. Jockey C. Maujean was further advised that should he appear before the Board regarding a similar matter in the future, more severe sanctions will follow. 7. Jockey J. De Souza (NIKHILS INN) signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 147(6)(a)(ii) in that struck the horse NIKHILS INN with his whip more than once on consecutive strides. Allyhosain) were all ridden aggressively in order to obtain forward positions and/or the lead. However, after BARAK LAVAN (J. Allyhosain) secured the lead, THE GYPSY KING (M. Sonaram) and FAIRBANKS (R. Boutanive) each of which attempted to obtain cover after their early exertions, commenced to race fiercely and had to be restrained off heels on a number of occasions. 6. At the 900m, ROCHESTER (R. K. Chumun) was carried out by MASTERALLISURVEY (J. Bardottier) which shifted out when racing onto the heels of THE GYPSY KING. 7. In view of the Starter’s Report, the starting stall certificate for TIME IS GOLD (O. Sola) has been withdrawn. This gelding has been suspended by the Stewards for seven days after which, it will be required to complete a jump out in a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Whilst being led off the course, after being scratched, SPECIAL FORCE, became restless, reared and got its leg caught in the fencing near the finishing post. This gelding had its leg subsequently dislodged from the fence by the starting team and returned to the stable. This caused a delay to the start of this race. 2. In view of the Starter’s Report, the starting stall certificate for SPECIAL FORCE (B. Sooful) has been withdrawn. This gelding has been suspended by the Stewards for seven days after which, it will be required to complete a jump out in a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards. 3. At the 1250m, AFTER THE ORDER (N. S. Batchameah) had to be restrained when awkwardly placed on the heels of YANKEE FORCE (C. Maujean). 4. SLIGHTLY SCOTTISH (N. Marday) overraced in the early stages. 5. The saddle on SACRED NIGHT (R. Boutanive) slipped back at the 1100m. This resulted in Jockey R. Boutanive being unable to assist his mount in the running and SACRED NIGHT (R. Boutanive) being eased out of the race from the 500m after he lost both stirrup irons. A Steward inspected the equipment of Jockey R. Boutanive post-race and found it to be in good working order 6. BYPASS (S. Rama) was momentarily held up for a clear run at the 300m. 7. ALPIROD (J. De Souza) and BYPASS (S. Rama) raced wide into the straight. 8. Leaving the 100m, YANKEE FORCE (C. Maujean) shifted out away from the whip and thereafter, shifted in. 9. Jockey N. S. Batchameah (AFTER THE ORDER) appeared before the Board and was advised that his use of the whip was unacceptable in that, he struck AFTER THE ORDER more than 8 times prior to the 100m. He was further advised that should he appear before the Board regarding a similar incident in the future, more severe action may be taken.

Stewards Reports 1. A race review was called into the start of this race pertaining to RUBY SPIRIT (J. Da Silva) drawn in the stall gate 1. In this regard, it was established that despite the start being effected, stall gate 1 was slow to open. This resulted in RUBY SPIRIT not receiving the same opportunity to jump on terms with the rest of the field. This was also confirmed by Jockey J. Da Silva (RUBY SPIRIT) who was interviewed by the Stewards. Accordingly, the Stewards were of the view that the prejudice suffered by this gelding was solely due to a defect with the starting stalls and consequently, RUBY SPIRIT (J. Da Silva) was declared a non-starter. 2. In view of Starter’s report, the starting stall certificate for BENI DES DIEUX (C. Maujean) has been withdrawn. This gelding has been suspended by the Stewards for seven days after which, it will be required to complete a jump out in a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards. 3. JAMES PETER (G. D. Aucharuz) overraced between the 1300m and 1000m. Thereafter, from the 150m to the finish, this gelding shifted out away from the whip and back in when Jockey G. D. Aucharuz attempted to correct it. 4. Jockey D. Bheekary (WELL CONNECTED) was observed to have again used his whip down the shoulder of his mount whilst in the drawn position. However, in assessing this matter, the Steward’s took into consideration that he may have been impeaded from using his whip behind the saddle due to his proximity to other runners and riders. This was confirmed by Jockey D. Bheekary when he was interviewed by the Stewards regarding this matter. Accordingly, no further action was taken.

Fayd’herbe) which rolled out when racing fiercely in the early stages. 3. LUNAFACATION (J. De Souza), BATTLE OF ALESIA (N.S. Batchameah) and DUKE’S DOMAIN (C. Maujean), raced wide at the 1250m. 4. At the 500m, CULTURE TRIP raced wide around the turn and into the straight. 5. At the 150m, IDEAL SECRET (M. Sonaram) was carried in by SEA DANCE (M. P. De Oliveira) which rolled in. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, ABSOLUTIST (J. Da Silva) switched out to continue its run when awkwardly placed on the inside of IDEAL SECRET which rolled in. 6. A race review was called into this incident which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Trainer of the third placed horse ABSOLUTIST (J. Da Silva) against the second placed horse SEA DANCE (M. P. De Oliveira) and the first placed horse IDEAL SECRET (M. Sonaram) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence of this matter, the Objection Board overruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Objection Board took into consideration that, it could not be established from neither the footage of the race nor the evidence of Trainer A. Sewdyal and Jockey J. Da Silva where ABSOLUTIST had definitively secured the run on the inside of IDEAL SECRET (M. Sonaram). Consequently, the Objection Board could not be satisfied that but for the above incident, ABSOLUTIST would have finished ahead of IDEAL SECRET and/or SEA DANCE, therefore, it overruled the objection and allowed the Judges’ result to stand. 7. In the concluding stages, THE EIGHTH LORD was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of OVER THE ODDS (A. Andrews) which rolled in and was immediately straightened. 8. An inquiry will be opened into the conduct of the Horse Racing Organiser representative Mr. K. Ubheeram in the Stewards’ Boardroom during the objection hearing, after the running of this race.
